MAN completes the electric range: eTGM rigid for urban and regional distribution, up to 500 km

23 July 2026: alongside H1 results (+8% sales), MAN confirms the eTGM rigid — 500 km class for city and regional duty — completing an electric portfolio from urban distribution to 570 km long-haul tractors.

MAN used its H1 2026 results (sales +8%, electric bus deliveries past 500) to confirm the portfolio’s completion: the new eTGM rigid truck for urban and regional distribution with up to 500 km range, joining the eTGX/eTGS tractors (around 570 km in 4×2 configuration) and the electric coach and city-bus lines. Additional battery-electric variants for urban distribution, regional transport and long-haul follow in H2.

Range completeness matters for fleet electrification programmes: most groups run mixed fleets (tractors for trunk, rigids for distribution), and single-brand electrification simplifies service, parts and driver training. MAN’s pitch — one electric ecosystem from city distribution to long-haul with CCS 375 kW and MCS 750 kW from Q2 series production — mirrors Mercedes’ eActros 300/400/600/Lowliner spread. The incumbents’ answer to Chinese spec-sheet competition is coverage, not any single number.

For distributors evaluating the eTGM against the DAF XD Electric, Volvo FM Electric and Renault E-Tech T 540: the comparison now has genuine depth in the 450–500 km rigid segment. We’ll fold the eTGM into the Compare tool’s next data update, pending published specs and delivery evidence.
