Launch Special №2 — covering May–July 2026
1. The toll lever is live. Since 2026-07-01, Flanders and the Netherlands grade truck tolls by CO₂: ≈€0.038/km zero-emission vs ≈€0.204/km diesel — up to ≈€0.40/km cross-border. At 150,000 km/yr that gap is ≈€25,000 per truck per year. Run your own numbers in our TCO Calculator.
2. CATL goes west. The 50:50 CATL–Octopus swap venture (announced 2026-06-22) plans UK super-hubs from 2027. Swapping now has a credible Western champion; Milence has a real opponent. Our framework tells you which duty cycles should care.
3. SANY is delivering. German commercial operations since spring, a 700-workshop service umbrella, and a “big splash” promised for IAA in September. Chinese entrants are no longer a rumour — see the Evidence File.
4. ACEA’s half-year: e-trucks +47.7% to 4.8% share. Acceleration, yes. Mass adoption, not yet.
5. Diary: AanZET second window opens 2026-09-29; IAA Transportation runs 2026-09-15–20, Hanover.
Launch Special №1 — covering February–April 2026
1. The staircase ruling. On 2026-03-30 the Council froze the −15% CO₂ target through 2029 and confirmed −45% from 2030. Interpretation for buyers: the industry must sell you far more electric trucks from 2030 — expect OEM pricing pressure to shift your way, and expect diesel resale values to face a structural headwind.
2. Where the market actually is. 2025 closed at 12,858 EU e-truck registrations (+70%), two-thirds in DE/NL/FR. Fourteen member states registered under 100 units. If you operate in the growth markets, infrastructure and grants are arriving first — that is an advantage, not a coincidence.
3. Depot beats public. Danish fleet data puts depot energy at 0.75–1.07 DKK/kWh vs ≈3.00 at public fast chargers — a five-year six-figure difference per truck. Site your energy before you order your truck.
4. China benchmark. 231,100 new-energy heavy trucks sold in China in 2025 (+182%); December penetration 53.9%. Scale drives the cost curve your next quote will reflect.
