XCMG’s new-year dispatches underscore the industrial base behind its truck ambitions: a 300+ unit European order for electric forklifts (first 60 shipped), 20+ sanitation compactors to Africa (22 countries served), electric port machinery to Southeast Asia in January — followed in February by batch rollouts of its new 120-tonne all-electric mining trucks and fleets of electric wheel loaders and excavators to overseas projects.

Why forklift and mining shipments matter for truck watchers: they demonstrate the two things European fleets doubt about Chinese entrants — homologation-grade product quality (the EU forklift order required CE compliance) and after-sales logistics (‘Product + Service + Solution’ with regional spare-parts centres). XCMG’s 2025 crown as China’s NE heavy-truck sales champion (35,400 units) was built on this base; its EU tractor programme (WVTA indicated Q3 2027) inherits it.

The electric mining trucks deserve a note of their own: 120-tonne all-electric haulers going into batch production for global mining projects — the extreme-duty segment where China’s electrification runs years ahead of Europe’s (see our Ordos case study). If XCMG can ship 120-tonne electric dumpers, a 4×2 EU tractor is a documentation exercise, not an engineering one — which is why the 2027 certification date is credible.
