The month in numbers
Toll gap €0.166/km ≈ €25k/truck/yr · H1 electric share 4.8% · MCS: 3 public sites (Antwerp 2.8 MW, Zwolle, Landvetter)
Five things that mattered
The toll lever went live. Flanders and the Netherlands switched on CO₂-graded truck tolls the same day: ≈€0.038/km zero-emission vs ≈€0.204 diesel — up to €0.40 cross-border. ~€25,000 per truck per year at corridor mileage.
ACEA’s half-year confirmed acceleration. EU trucks +9.8%, electric +47.7% — share 3.6%→4.8%. Growth concentrated in DE/NL/FR.
MAN put MCS into series production. Megawatt charging is now a factory option; Mercedes tested it on 2,400 km; Scania offers up to 750 kW. The constraint moved from vehicles to sites.
Hengelo opened with zero-emission construction. Milence’s fourth Dutch hub: five 400 kW bays, built entirely with electric machinery — infrastructure eating its own cooking.
Tesla mapped 66 US Megacharger sites. Pilot Travel Centers partnership, 1.2 MW dispensers, 37 locations in 2026. A different coalition building the same answer.
What to watch next month
August: IAA countdown — what SANY’s ‘big splash’ and the incumbents’ counter mean for your 2027 shortlist. And the 29 September AanZET window.
