The month in numbers

Milence: 34 hubs, €500M equity + €120M debt · ICCT: Europe needs €7bn truck charging capex by 2030

Five things that mattered

Truck charging met the capital markets. Milence’s €120M facility (Edmond de Rothschild BRIDGE, Invest-NL, Íslandsbanki, InvestEU support) — the first institutional debt into truck charging as an asset class.

Paris–Berlin went all-electric. Four OEMs’ trucks, 1,000 km, policymakers aboard: feasibility proven under managed conditions; routine economics still the per-corridor question.

The network count hit 34. 34 hubs in eight countries, 16 in development, 90 by end-2028 — the build curve fleets should date their readiness reviews to.

China kept climbing after the spike. New-energy heavy trucks still growing hard after December’s 53.9% — the ‘incentive bubble’ reading started to lose.

Qiji’s #75 standard spread. The swap block now spans 30+ models from 10+ truck makers, stations compatible with 95% of mainstream heavy trucks — standardisation is swap’s real product.

What to watch next month

June: CATL × Octopus — the venture that could change the European charging-vs-swap argument overnight. It did.
