ACEA’s spring commercial-vehicle releases show the truck market’s recovery firming through Q1 2026: year-to-date truck registrations up 10.7% by April, with heavy goods vehicles leading the growth. The Q1 total of 81,766 trucks sets the base for the electric-share calculations (4.4% electrically-chargeable) that ICCT’s monitor analyses in detail.

The country pattern matters for fleets benchmarking adoption: Poland (+25.9% by H1) and Spain (+13.2%) are outgrowing Germany (+7.1%) on total trucks while France stays flat — but the electric shares run in the opposite direction (Germany 4.6%, the south in low single digits). Total-market growth and electrification are decoupling by region: Southern Europe is buying trucks, Northern Europe is buying electric trucks, and the difference is policy, not demand.

ACEA’s monthly series is the cleanest cycle for tracking the market’s direction; we fold each release into our market-data pages the week it publishes. The full-year picture at H1: 171,933 trucks registered (+9.8%), electric +47.7% to 4.8% share — covered in our H1 analysis article.
