China June 2026: 115,000 heavy trucks — a record June, with NEV momentum intact

June set an all-time monthly record for the Chinese heavy-truck market at 115,000 units (+18% YoY), with new-energy volumes holding near May’s 30,800 level and exports up ~35%. The month that made H1’s +22% official.

June 2026 closed China’s strongest first half on record for heavy trucks: 115,000 units in the month alone (+18% year-on-year), taking H1 to 660,000 (+22%). New-energy heavy trucks held close to May’s 30,800-unit level — the two strongest NEV months outside December’s incentive spike landing back-to-back, with Jan–May cumulative NEV sales already at 102,600 (+67.6%).

The June composition reconfirms the three-engine model: replacement-incentive policy keeping retail replacement flowing, project procurement by corridor and mining fleets bulking up volumes, and exports up roughly 35% in the month. Seasonally, June is when pre-summer logistics peak; the NEV share holding near record levels in a record total market means absolute electric volumes, not just percentages, are compounding.

For Europe, June’s record matters as supply-side context for IAA (September): the Chinese industry arrives in Hanover off its best half ever, with export lines explicitly aimed at Europe. Expect aggressive pricing and confident product cycles — and expect European incumbents to answer with the ecosystem arguments (service, financing, residuals) that volume alone can’t counter.
