Mercedes-Benz Trucks published long-distance data from its megawatt-charging test: two eActros 600s ran roughly 2,400 km between Germany and Sweden using MCS charging — real inter-country operation, not a closed circuit. The eActros 600 ships MCS-prepared; the data run validates the interface in the field ahead of customers’ MCS-equipped trucks (MAN’s MCS entered series production in July; Mercedes and Scania offer MCS-ready trucks for 2026 orders).

The numbers that matter for fleets: at megawatt-class power, the 45-minute legal break refuels 300–400 km — which is what converts a 500 km tractor into a genuine long-haul tool (MAN cites 1,000+ km daily within diesel working hours on its MCS models; Daimler states ~30 minutes for its trucks). The remaining constraint is sites: a handful of public MCS locations today (Antwerp 2.8 MW, Zwolle, Landvetter, Kotka) versus MAN’s series trucks already delivering in nine countries.

Our guidance stands: spec MCS-readiness on any 2026–27 order — retrofitting costs more and the option preserves residual value as the site map fills through 2027–28 (Milence’s MILES project alone plans 284 MCS points). The vehicle side of the long-haul question is now evidence, not promise.
