ACEA’s February 2026 data showed the EU truck market’s recovery gathering pace — registrations building toward the Q1 total of 81,766 units that became the year’s statistical baseline. Heavy trucks led the growth, with Poland and Spain outpacing Germany while France stayed flat — the total-market geography that contrasts so sharply with the electric market’s northern concentration.

The February pattern (southern volume, northern electrification) is the year’s most under-reported structural fact: Southern Europe is buying trucks, Northern Europe is buying electric trucks, and the policy maps explain both. Spain and Poland have volume without incentive stacks; Germany, the Benelux and the Nordics have stacks that convert volume into electric share. Until southern policy catches up, Europe’s electrification will remain a northern story — with all the infrastructure concentration that implies.
