Beiben Heavy Truck used its 2026 Partner Conference (January) to launch 16 new V5-series models in one go — seven tractors for long-haul logistics and nine dump trucks for infrastructure work — of which 14 (nearly 90%) are new-energy. Annual sales target: 12,000 units.

The specs show where China’s mid-tier makers are pushing: power up from 490 to 600+ hp, battery options of 400–600 kWh, weight reductions over 300 kg through new materials and structure (payload that matters in mining and construction), and a flat-floor cab redesign. Most striking is the charging: selected V5 models carry Huawei’s megawatt-level supercharging at 3.5C rate — a claimed 15-minute charge for most of the pack — plus an ‘interconnected charging’ variant, which Beiben says makes it the first Chinese maker to offer both.

For European readers, Beiben is a second-tier name with first-tier signalling value: even China’s #5–8 truck groups now ship 600 kWh batteries, megawatt charging and purpose-built NEV cabs as standard. The technology floor of the entire Chinese industry has risen to where European flagships are — which is exactly what Reuters’ March analysis meant by ‘three years ahead’. Whether Beiben itself ever homologates for Europe matters less than what its spec sheet says about the cost curve its bigger siblings will bring.
