ICCT’s H1 2026 monitor: approximately 3,400 zero-emission heavy trucks (12t+) registered across the EU in the first half — up from ~1,900 a year earlier — lifting segment share from 1.4% to 2.3% (on ICCT’s 12t+ basis; the broader 3.5t+ electric-truck share stands at 4.8%). Overall, ~14,300 zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles were registered (+15%).

Three findings deserve fleet attention. First, Germany was the growth engine — its ZE heavy-truck share hit 4.6% in Q2, powered by the toll exemption and CO₂-differentiated charges, while early-adopter NL/DK/SE slowed between quarters (incentive timing, not sentiment). Second, Mercedes-Benz leads the segment at ~40% of registrations on the eActros range — the delivery machine behind Simon Loos-style repeat orders. Third, IVECO broke out from a low base: ~100 registrations in Q2 after six in Q1, with ICCT linking the rise partly to manufacturers’ first CO₂-standards reporting period.

The monitor also marks the medium-duty milestone: zero-emission medium trucks and vans at 21.1% (63% for heavy vans), and buses at 28.6% with city buses past 60% in Q2.
