Immingham, April 2026 — Kuehne+Nagel has begun operations at Milence’s first UK fast-charging hub for electric trucks, at Immingham on the Humber — one of Britain’s busiest freight gateways. The combination matters more than the opening itself: a named global 3PL putting daily fleet volume through a public truck-charging site is exactly the anchor-tenant pattern (Kaufland at Barsinghausen, Volvo at Ghent) that de-risks charging infrastructure utilisation.

The UK context makes it doubly significant. Britain is simultaneously running Europe’s most generous demand-side package — Plug-in Truck Grant paying up to £81,000 per large tractor from April 2026 (after a £120,000 peak in Q1), the Depot Charging Scheme funding 70% of infrastructure, and a consultation on ending new diesel HGV sales by 2040. Public corridor charging has been the missing layer; Immingham is the first of it at alliance scale, with BP Pulse planning MCS-capable charging at Ashford International Truckstop within the year.

Why fleets outside the UK should care.
