Ghent, 4 March 2026 — Milence opened its fourth Belgian charging hub, at North Sea Port in Ghent adjacent to the Volvo Trucks factory: four high-power CCS bays at up to 400 kW, brand-agnostic access, drive-through layout and driver facilities, with a Megawatt Charging System (MCS) upgrade planned for a second phase. The site completes a Belgian cluster — two hubs in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (including the 20-bay Ketenis site), one in Maasmechelen, now Ghent — that covers the country’s main freight axes along the TEN-T North Sea–Mediterranean corridor.

The co-location logic. Putting the hub next to Volvo’s plant is not symbolism: factory logistics flows guarantee baseline utilisation from day one — the same anchor-demand principle that decides all truck-charging economics — while the site serves cross-border fleets on the E17/E40. It is the third consecutive Milence opening with an industrial partner attached (Kaufland at Barsinghausen in January, Kuehne+Nagel at Immingham in April), and the pattern is deliberate: the alliance is de-risking utilisation with logistics anchor tenants rather than building speculative forecourts.

For Belgian fleets. Two practical notes. The Belgian base tariff is €0.379/kWh excl. VAT since 1 January under Milence’s market-based pricing — the number to use in corridor TCO models rather than generic public-charging rates.
