NexDash takes first eActros 600 LS units — and plans to sell transformation-as-a-service

German startup NexDash took delivery of its first Mercedes eActros 600 LS long-haul tractors in early July — with a business model that goes beyond hauling: the company plans to support other firms through their diesel-to-electric transformations, effectively packaging its own electrification experience as a service.
The model is a marker of market maturity: a second tier of companies is emerging between OEMs and fleets — operators whose product is operational knowledge (route design, charging scheduling, driver training, energy management) delivered through a live fleet. For mid-size fleets without in-house EV expertise, buying transformation-as-a-service from a fleet that runs the same trucks it advises on is a rational shortcut — the same logic as Einride’s capacity-as-a-service, minus the autonomy.
Watch for: whether NexDash publishes operational data from the LS tractors (real corridor consumption at 40t is the industry’s most valuable shared asset), and whether other ‘transformation fleets’ appear in the Benelux and Germany. The consulting-fleet pattern is one we’ll track — it may become how mid-market electrification actually scales.
