Poland’s flagship NaszEauto programme (PLN 1.6 billion, recovery-fund financed) continues paying up to PLN 40,000 per electric vehicle — but eligibility stops at cars under a PLN 225,000 price cap for private individuals and sole proprietorships. Heavy trucks sit outside it, leaving Europe’s sixth-largest truck market without a national purchase scheme for electric HGVs.

The industry push for change is active: Polish automotive and logistics lobbies are pressing for a KPO-funded heavy-vehicle scheme, arguing that Poland’s transit-fleet economics (Polish tractors running German, Austrian and Benelux kilometres, where those countries’ toll exemptions benefit any ZE truck regardless of registration) already prime the market — what’s missing is the purchase-side nudge and domestic charging build-out. BEV registration-tax and excise exemptions (to 2029) and enhanced depreciation (PLN 225,000 for BEVs) help only at the light end.

For CEE fleets, the sequencing advice stands: electrify first where the trucks serve western kilometres (capturing Germany’s exemption and Benelux rates), and treat a future Polish scheme as upside. When it lands — the funding pipeline makes it a when — early movers with grid connections and operating experience will capture it, as the Dutch pattern showed.
