Scania signed an agreement to supply 105 battery-electric trucks to Wibax, the Swedish logistics and chemicals specialist — described as one of the EU’s largest single electric-truck orders in bulk transport. The trucks will operate across more than 20 Wibax depots in Sweden, hauling liquid chemicals and bio-oils at up to 74 tonnes gross train weight.

The deal is notable twice over. First, the segment: bulk liquid transport — heavy, specialised, traditionally late to electrify — is exactly the kind of duty cycle sceptics said would stay diesel longest. Second, the package: a five-year exclusive agreement covering fleet optimisation, maintenance, charging infrastructure and digital tools. That’s the full-stack pattern (vehicle + energy + service) that Chinese entrants use and that European OEMs increasingly match — Scania effectively selling an electrified operation, not 105 trucks.

For the Nordic evidence base, Wibax joins ASKO (Norway’s grocery fleet) and Scania’s own rollout as proof that the region’s combination — clean grid, toll incentives, OEM home turf — produces Europe’s most mature electric operations.
