The month in numbers
ING: >16t electric share ~3% in 2025, >5% expected 2026 · ICCT 2030 parc: 290k–340k
Five things that mattered
The market structure data landed. 2025 closed with two-thirds of EU e-truck registrations in Germany, the Netherlands and France — and 14 member states under 100 units each. Adoption is a map of incentives, not opinions.
ING put numbers on the buyer profile. ~30% of 2025 sales went to retail and dense distribution fleets with depot charging — the depot-first pattern that now shapes everything.
ICCT’s 2030 frame arrived. 290,000–340,000 e-trucks on European roads by 2030; ACEA’s upside 400,000. The path matters more than the total: depot first, corridor second.
Swap networks kept compounding in China. CATL’s disclosed build — 1,325 stations of all types in one year — set the utilisation benchmark every European swap proposal must now answer.
Windrose kept teaching. The insolvency’s aftermath continued to reset due-diligence standards: delivery records, type-approval documents, named customers — evidence or nothing.
What to watch next month
The EU Council’s review of the truck CO₂ regulation — the ‘staircase’ amendment that landed on 30 March and reset the compliance calendar to 2030.
